University Launch is an immersive R&D new graduate program specifically designed for recent college graduates at the bachelor’s level. University Launch new graduates will experience in-depth exposure to VMware’s products and business, best-in-class technical training opportunities, and career-boosting mentorships while working on your team doing your day-to-day responsibilities. This program will bring new graduates together and kickstart an impactful journey in VMware’s Product organization.

Success in the Role: What are the performance goals over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?
University Launch will set you up for success! You will immediately make contributions and impact your team. While also going through personalized career and technical tracks, cutting-edge training, VMware Power of Difference engagement, and career-boosting mentorships.
During the first 12 months:
While you are working on your team you will also be given the opportunity to attend the following events to kickstart your career
- Code houses
- Bootcamps
- Meet and Greets
- Other professional development
During the events listed, you will learn about many of our different business units and products, You will also get hands-on training with cutting-edge technology from experts within the company and outside.
At the end of the 12 months:
- You will continue to work on your team and use the knowledge gained to continue your career.
- You will then have the tools and the knowledge to contribute on a larger scale
- You will be able to advance your career in the direction you choose in the future.
What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?
You could be working in one of many business units. The most important item to remember about the Launch Program is that it is all about potential and learning. We want all our candidates to be well-rounded individuals with core CS knowledge. You will have the ability to do projects for your team in the following areas: C, Java, C++, Python, Go, HTML, CSS, Angular JS, and based on your interests and abilities.
When it comes to the team you will be on that comes after you start! During the first 3-4 weeks of employment, you will attend onboarding with other Launchers. During this time, you will learn more about the Business Units and stack rank them in accordance with your interest while the managers review your information and see if the match is a fit!

Upon joining your team, you will be expected to participate in the following
- Team meetings
- Coding
- Code reviews
- Team training
Eligibility Criteria –
- Need to be willing to start in one of the two start date months postgraduation either February 2023 OR July 2023.
- Graduating with Bachelor’s in computer science or equivalent
- Candidates need to be graduating between December 2022 and July 2023

Fixed: this role is a Remote work opportunity based out of VMware’s Palo Alto and Atlanta offices relocation will be provided as necessary.
