Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Develop, Maintain, and Unit Test Java Applications and Services: In this role, you’ll be responsible for creating and maintaining Java-based applications and services. This involves writing code, ensuring it functions correctly through rigorous unit testing, and making necessary updates to keep the software running smoothly.
- Solve Complex Business and Technical Problems: You’ll tackle intricate challenges, both on the business and technical fronts. This might involve finding innovative solutions to meet specific project requirements or addressing technical issues that arise during development.
- Participate in Agile Activities: As part of an agile development team, you’ll engage in essential activities like sprint planning and technical design reviews. Your input will be valuable in shaping the project’s direction and ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Implement Best Practices: Your role includes adhering to industry best practices in software development. This encompasses applying usability patterns for better user experiences, maintaining a consistent code style for readability, integrating components effectively, conducting thorough testing, and participating in code reviews to maintain code quality.
- Collaborate with Global Teams: Effective communication and collaboration are vital. You’ll work closely with Engineering, Product, and Release teams spread across the globe. This collaborative effort ensures that the software aligns with the product vision, meets customer needs, and is released successfully.
Overall, this role demands a combination of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and teamwork to create and maintain high-quality Java applications while adhering to industry standards and collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
Qualifications and Requirements
- 0-2 years of experience in working as a Java backend developer using Java, Spring and ORM framework (e.g.: Hibernate)
- Strong technical expertise in Java 8, Kafka,SQLS, REST and relational database (e.g.: Oracle)
- Strong in OOP and SOLID design principles
- Preferred hands on experience with BI tool Sisense and datawarehouse knowledge
- Well versed with SCRUM / Agile delivery methodology
- Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
- Self-motivated, requiring minimum oversight.
