Job description:

  • Biz Ops seeks a Business Operations Site Reliability Engineer (SRE).
  • Biz Ops ensures production readiness for Mastercard products.
  • Business Operations SREs focus on platform stability and health.
  • Responsibilities include removing barriers, empowering developers for resilience, and emphasizing operational design, automation, capacity planning, and monitoring.
  • Biz Ops promotes an agile, learning-oriented culture and establishes operational standards.
  • Daily operations prioritize triage, root cause analysis, and blameless post-mortems with a focus on understanding business impact.
  • The primary goal is proactive engagement in development to enhance customer experience and application value.
  • Risk management is critical through compliance and mitigation across all environments, aligning priorities with operational needs.

Skills and Qualification Required:

  • BS degree in Computer Science or related technical field in coding (e.g., physics or mathematics), or equivalent practical experience.
  • Coding or scripting exposure.
  • Appetite for innovation and pushing automation boundaries, along with a curiosity for emerging technology and infrastructure to scale architecture for future growth.
  • Proficiency in algorithms, data structures, scripting, pipeline management, and software design.
  • Systematic problem-solving approach, strong communication skills, and a sense of ownership and drive.
  • Interest in designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems.
  • Willingness and ability to learn, take on challenging opportunities, and work within a geographically diverse project team.
  • Ability to balance precision with speed, flexibility, and pragmatism while focusing on long-term system health. Collaborative with cross-functional teams to ensure clear understanding of system behavior and robust monitoring.
