Job Description

As a successful candidate, your role as a Software Developer will involve providing automation testing support to the Test team. Your expertise in server-side development (such as C#, n-tier architecture, WCF, windows services, MS SQL) and familiarity with web development (including ASP.NET, JavaScript) will be valuable assets, depending on your skills and experience.

Your primary responsibility will be to develop in-house tools that facilitate middle-tier validations and enable the execution of test cases as part of continuous integration. These tools may also be expanded to enhance automated regression capabilities.

Our projects follow an Agile-DevOps methodology, allowing us to swiftly deliver changes to the business while involving the end-users in the application design process.

What You Will Be Doing ?

Development experience with working knowledge of C# .Net.
Automation knowledge and willing to learn BDD Framework Development using SpecFlow.
Knowledge of Developing & Executing Automation Test Suits in Agile Methodology.
Able to convert high-level test requirements into reliable, repeatable, and maintainable automation scripts.
Ability to automate new functionalities & regression of existing functionalities with in Sprint.
Experienced in Analysing Automation Results, Defect reporting and reporting of Results for Sprint and Releases.
Flexible enough to support Automation Testing and move on to other Test Automation Tools as per Requirements and Organization Roadmap.
Understands the overall System Design and is able to contribute for in-house tool development for testing requirement
Is responsible for understanding the System Architecture and analysing the Testing requirement.
Identifies and implements improvements to existing procedures and team processes to enhance tool and testing efficiency.
Writes well structured, high quality and performant code
Experienced in writing SQL queries to perform backend testing.
Strong knowledge of SDLC and Agile[DevOps] Framework.
Knowledge of all types of testing – integration testing, system testing, functional testing, UI testing.
Adhere to the project testing schedules and flag immediately if there is a risk of slippage.
Detailed hands on testing of new functionalities & regression of existing functionalities
Identifying test conditions from project documentation and developing test cases which provide full coverage
Liaise and work closely with the stakeholders in different phases of Agile Framework. Coordination with the business stakeholders during the SIT & UAT stage as applicable
Ability to work in global environment with people from diverse cultural backgrounds
Work closely with developers, business stakeholders and act as an integral part of the software development team using an iterative development process.
Experience of Scripting and Execution of Enterprise suit of Investment banking applications.
Strong Problem Analysis & Resolution skills.
Profound insight to determine priorities, schedule work, and meet critical deadlines.
Good Analytical skill, Good Communication skill, Interpersonal Skills, Proactive, Capability of thinking through a scenario.
Works closely with team members in London, New York and Prague – participating in and contributing to Functional and Technical discussions

Requirements

•   Must be able to work with and participate within a large professional team.
•   Must be able to work with minimal or no supervision and have the ability to prioritize workloads quickly and efficiently.
•   Aptitude to learn tools/apps/processes/domains and proficient in Automation Test management methodologies and practices
•   Must demonstrate effective communication with management, peers, subordinates and Global teams, both verbally and in writing.
•   Results driven – Able to deliver good quality solutions within tight timeframe.
•   Participate in tasks at org level like training/social activities to promote Barclays culture

Skills

•   Development experience in the IT industry.
•   Knowledge of BDD using Specflow.
•   Working knowledge of .Net and C#
•   Good knowledge of Object Oriented Programming, exposure to design patterns
•   Understanding of web application architecture XML, WebServices (SOAP), MQ
•   Strong SQL Skills is a Must (primarily writing SQL queries)
•   Knowledge of Messaging technology like Websphere MQ
•   Knowledge of Version management Tools like git
•   Experience with WCF or any similar web services technology is an advantage
•   Knowledge of source control tools, full knowledge of the software development life cycle
•   Excellent written and verbal English language communication skills
•   Ability to multitask

•   Ability to work in a virtual team, across boundaries
•   Domain skills– Prior knowledge of Client and Counterparty Reference Data, Assassin,

•   Experience in Executing Web Services & GUI Based Testing.
•   Basic knowledge of AutoSys, Feed processing
•   Knowledge of Cloud-AWS
