AAI is a government of India Public Sector Enterprise, constituted by an Act of Parliament. It is entrusted with the responsibility of creating, upgrading, maintaining, and managing civil aviation infrastructure both on the ground and in air space in the country.

Airports Authority of India (AAI), has invited online applications from eligible candidates for recruitment to the post of Junior Executive (Air Traffic Control) post ass many as 400 vacant posts will be filled with this recruitment drive.

The process of filing applications for the posts commenced on June 15. The last date to apply is July 14. The date of the online examination will be announced on AAI Website- www.aai.aero.

The number of vacancies is tentative and may increase or decrease at the sole discretion of AAI.

Eligibility criteria

Only Indian Nationals fulfilling eligibility criteria can apply for the Junior Executives post.

Pay Scale

Junior Executive (E-1) -Rs 40,000-1,40,000 per month. In addition to Basic pay, Dearness Allowance, Perks @ 35% of Basic pay, HRA and other benefits which include CPF, Gratuity, Social Security Schemes, Medical benefits, etc. are admissible as per AAI rules. The CTC per annum for the post of Junior Executive would be around Rs. 12 lacs (approximately).

Selection Process

Candidates will be shortlisted based on their performance in the Online examination and be called for the Documents Verification/ Voice Test.

Educational qualification

The candidate should have a full-time regular bachelor’s degree of three years in Science (B.Sc) with Physics and Mathematics. OR full-time regular bachelor’s degree in Engineering in any discipline. (Physics & Mathematics should be subjects in any one of the semester’s curriculum).

The candidate is required to have proficiency in both spoken and written English.

Age limit

For Junior executives, the maximum age is 27 years as of 14.07.2022.

The upper age limit is relaxable by 10 years for PWD, 5 years for SC/ST, and 3 years for OBC (Non-Creamy layer) candidates. Vacancies reserved for the OBC category are meant for candidates belonging to the ‘Non-creamy layer as per the guidelines of Govt. of India on the subject.

Interested and eligible candidates can apply online through the link available on www. aai. aero under the tab “CAREERS”. No other means/mode of submission of applications will be accepted under any circumstances. The last date to apply is July 14, 2022.

  • General Candidates: Rs 1000
  • SC/ST/Female Candidates: Rs 81

However, PWD and apprentices who have completed one year of Apprenticeship Training in AAI are exempted from payment of any fee.

Airports Authority of India (AAI) was constituted by an Act of Parliament and came into being on 1st April 1995 by merging the erstwhile National Airports Authority and International Airports    Authority of India. The merger brought into existence a single Organization entrusted with the responsibility of creating, upgrading, maintaining, and managing civil aviation infrastructure both on the ground and in air space in the country.

AAI manages a total of 137 airports which include 24 International airports (3 Civil Enclaves), 10 Customs Airports (4 Civil Enclaves), and 103 Domestic airports (23 Civil Enclaves). AAI provides air navigation services over 2.8 million square nautical miles of air space. During the year 2019-20, AAI handled aircraft movement of 1314.23 Thousand [International 156.0 & Domestic 1158.23], Passengers handled 159.59 Million [International 22.26 & Domestic 137.33] and the cargo handled 909.32 thousand MT [International 452.46 & Domestic 456.85].  Further, all Indian airports taken together have handled aircraft movement of 2587.05 Thousand [International 431.85 & Domestic 2155.20], Passengers handled 341.05 Million [International 66.54& Domestic 274.51] and the cargo handled 3328.63 thousand MT [International 2003.12 & Domestic 1325.51].
