Job Description

RealPage is seeking an entry-level Software Engineer (Dev I) to join our dynamic team. This position is ideal for recent graduates or interns with a technical degree who are interested in learning Ruby on Rails and supporting our Marketing Platform suite of products. We value candidates with a strong work ethic, a commitment to continuous learning, excellent communication skills, and a knack for solving complex software development problems.

Role and Responsibilities

Collaborate with Senior Team Members: In this role, you will work closely with experienced senior team members to dissect and comprehensively analyze user requirements. By engaging in active collaboration, you’ll gain insights and guidance on how to effectively translate these requirements into precise technical specifications, ensuring alignment between user needs and development efforts.
Write Clean, Well-Designed Code: Writing clean and well-structured code is paramount to maintainable and efficient software. Your responsibility is to craft code that is not only functional but also adheres to best practices, making it easy to read, test, and maintain. This ensures the long-term sustainability and scalability of the software.
Perform Testing for Quality Assurance: As a software engineer, you will engage in unit testing and integration testing to validate the quality and functionality of your code. This step is crucial to identify and rectify issues early in the development process, ensuring that the final product meets the highest quality standards and performs as expected.
Follow Team Guidelines and Seek Assistance: Collaboration within the team is essential, and it’s important to adhere to established team guidelines and coding standards. When faced with challenges or uncertainties, don’t hesitate to seek assistance and guidance from senior team members. Effective teamwork fosters a conducive environment for growth and knowledge sharing.
Continuous Skill Improvement: The field of web development is ever-evolving, with new technologies and trends emerging regularly. To excel in this role, it’s crucial to stay updated with the latest developments in web development. Dedicate time to continuously enhance your skills and knowledge through self-study, courses, and staying engaged with industry communities. This commitment to improvement ensures that you remain at the forefront of web development practices and contribute effectively to your team’s success.

Requirements / Qualifications

B.Tech/ B.E /BS degree in CS or related field.
Minimum 0-2 years of experience in any Programming Language, Preferably ROR.
Experience in any Code Management Systems like Git, GitHub, TFS.
Should have used development tools like Eclipse or IntelliJ or Visual Studio or any other development tool.
Should have knowledge in DB Normalization and SQL Querying.
Should have used any application server and has knowledge on using debugger option.
Flexible to work, as it requires connecting with US PROD and DEV Teams occasionally.              
Good in written and verbal communications.
Should be a quick learner.
Knowledge or experience on Agile project development.
Understanding of Build process using Jenkins or any other build tool.
